General Dentistry

Our goal is to make sure that your stress level doesn’t rise while you are in our care. In fact, we want you stress levels to go down. And we know how to make that happen. But it all starts with you. And you being honest with us about your level of anxiety.

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t been to the dentist in ages or if you’ve had bad experiences in the past. We will not criticize your dental hygiene and we will not exploit your vulnerability when you sit down in one of our dental chairs.

Give us a chance to help you through the fear and watch how quickly your perception of going to the dentist changes.

We may suggest systemic testing and/or supplemental therapies during your visit

Saliva Testing

Saliva testing is convenient and economical. In most cases, it is a safe and effective alternative to blood and/or urine testing. Our partner Oral DNA labs specializes in saliva testing to support oral health.

Ozone Therapy

The ozone molecule is the most powerful agent that we can use on microorganisms. It is deadly to bacteria, viruses, and fungi, yet the more highly evolved human cells are not damaged by ozone in lower concentrations. It is also naturally occurring which makes it safe and effective to use.

Perio Protect

Treating gum disease is comfortable and convenient with Perio Protect. It takes only minutes a day for the powerful prescription therapy to do its job. This system features clear, patented, mouth guard-like trays that deliver medicine deep below your gum line and keep it there long enough to fight infection-causing disease.

Oral CDX

OralCDx Brushtest is a quick, painless diagnostic test to assist us in preventing oral cancer. A small brush is used to collect a few cells from your mouth, which are then sent to a lab for analysis.

Oral HPV Testing

HPV is the leading cause of oropharyngeal cancers; primarily the tonsils, tonsillar crypt, the base of the tongue and a very small number of oral cavity cancers at the front of the mouth. Oral HPV testing is a great preventative tool.

PH Testing

PH testing helps you to know how well or poorly you are managing your body’s pH and cell/organ health. There is an exact pH necessary for the health of blood, cells, organs, external fluids, skin and hair.

PROBIORA

After a dental cleaning, the bacteria that occur naturally in the mouth, those both beneficial and undesirable, have been neutralized. We suggest ProBiora at home. It’s a dissolvable mint that supports gum and tooth health, while naturally whitening teeth and crowding out bacteria that causes bad breath.

Twinlight® Periodontal Treatment

Step 1: Nd:YAG remove the diseased epithelial lining

Step 2: ErYAG removes calculus from the root surface.

Step 3: Nd:YAG coagulates and leaves a stable fibrin clot.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers have made dentistry easier and more painless than it has ever been. There are a number of advantages associated with laser dentistry, some of which include:

FAST HEALING TIMES

One of the great things about laser dentistry is that it causes much less pain and discomfort than using traditional tools. Because of this, patients who undergo laser dentistry procedures generally heal faster than patients who undergo traditional procedures.

REDUCED INFECTION RISK

When traditional metal dental tools are used during procedures, they often cause abrasions in the gums, allowing for infections to occur. Lasers work to sterilize the area upon which they are focused, eliminating the majority of bacteria in that area. The result? A substantially reduced risk of infection.

LESS DISCOMFORT

As noted above, laser dentistry is generally less painful than traditional dentistry. In many cases, it can completely eliminate the need for anesthetic.
Laser dentistry can generally be used if you’re experiencing the following:
  • Tooth decay
  • Gum disease
  • Tooth yellowing

Snoring should not be ignored

Snoring is more than just a loud and annoying noise. It can be an indicator of a Sleep Breathing Disorder (SBD) that can be very serious. Approximately 42 million Americans have a SBD.

The most common form of a SBD is Obstructive Sleep Apnea, a medical condition where your tongue and soft tissues close off your airway and stop air from entering your lungs.

The affects of OSA are alarming
  • 70% of heart attack patients have mild OSA
  • 86% of obese type 2 Diabetic patients suffer from Sleep Apnea
  • 43% of patients with mild OSA have Hypertension
  • 48% of type 2 Diabetes sufferers have Sleep Apnea
  • 100K car accidents annually
  • 4X more at risk for stroke
  • Sleep Apnea can also cause memory problems, weight gain, impotence, and headaches if not treated.
  • Untreated OSA can lead to a 30% or more reduced survivability rate over the course of 20 years.
  • Drowsy driving is responsible for 100,000 car accidents, 40,000 injuries, and 1,550 deaths per year.
  • Approximately 38,000 deaths occur on an annual basis that relate to cardiovascular problems that in one way or another are connected to Sleep Apnea. These problems include high blood pressure, hypertension and stroke, among others.
Signs and symptoms of sleep apnea
  • Inconsistent breathing during sleep
  • Snoring
  • Hypertension
  • Depression
  • Obesity
  • Gasping, choking, or coughing during sleep
  • Extreme sleepiness throughout the day.
  • Lethargic feelings
  • Morning headaches
  • Lack of interest in hobbies
  • Dry mouth and/or sore throat in the morning
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Trouble concentrating or remembering things
More people have OSA than you think
  • 1 in 5 adults have mild OSA
  • 1 in 15 have moderate to severe OSA
  • 9% of middle-aged women and 25% of middle-aged men suffer from OSA
